chosen as a newly designated Main Street Community. Main Street, a subsidiary
of National Trust for Historic Preservation, is a program that focuses on
developing Alabama’s downtown districts. They have been energizing downtowns
for more than 30 years.

FORT PAYNE, ALABAMA – JUNE 1, 2015
THE CITY OF FORT PAYNE and the DeKalb County Economic Development Authority (DCEDA) have applied and been accepted to participate in the Valley Sustainable Communities Program. This program, now in its third year, is being sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and managed by Boyette Strategic Advisors (BSA).

The city of Rainsville joined Alexander
City, Elba, Fairhope and Saraland as the newest ACE members. Rainsville Mayor
Nick Jones said the ACE certification was something the city has been working
on for some time.

DeKalb County Economic Development Authority Director, Jimmy Durham, received the David R. Echols Distinguished Service Award for Exemplary Service in Economic Development. The award was presented by the Alabama Department of Commerce at the Economic Development Association of Alabama Winter Conference in Montgomery.
