Gov. Ivey awards grant to help provide new jobs in DeKalb County

MONTGOMERY— A $130,000 grant awarded by Gov. Kay Ivey will help DeKalb County gain a new foothold on the textile industry and create 15 new jobs.

Student to graduate high school and college within same month

Fort Payne High School senior Mark McGullion will be graduating this May from high school, as well as from Northeast Alabama Community College through the college’s dual enrollment program.

The dual enrollment program allows high school students to begin their college courses while still in high school. Dual enrollment allows students to receive both high school and college credit for a college course taught at the high school, online, or on the NACC campus during the fall, spring, or summer term.

The Rural Leadership Institute, developed and sponsored by TVA Economic Development, provides professional leadership training to rural community economic development professionals in the TVA service area.
