NACC to Offer Google Certificate

NORTHEAST TO OFFER GOOGLE IT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE

Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) will offer the Google IT Support Professional Certificate starting in January. This certificate serves as a credential that can be used on the pathway to acquire a job as a Computer Specialist, a field in which there are an estimated 215,000 openings in the United States. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median salary for a computer specialist is $53,470. No experience or college degree is required to enter the IT Support Professional Certificate Program nationally or at Northeast. The program is part of Grow with Google, the tech company’s initiative to create economic opportunities for all Americans.

Student to graduate high school and college within same month

Fort Payne High School senior Mark McGullion will be graduating this May from high school, as well as from Northeast Alabama Community College through the college’s dual enrollment program.
The dual enrollment program allows high school students to begin their college courses while still in high school. Dual enrollment allows students to receive both high school and college credit for a college course taught at the high school, online, or on the NACC campus during the fall, spring, or summer term.

NACC Once Again Named as One of the Top 150 US Community collegees by the Aspen Institute

NACC Engineering Tech Students Score Well Above National Average






Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) Engineering Technician students recently scored an average of 12.4 points above the national average on the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) Engineering Technician examination.

Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) president Dr. David Campbell recently announced that the college has joined the Consortium for Alabama Regional Center for Automotive Manufacturing (CARCAM). CARCAM is one of 36 regional National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education Centers across the US charged with educating today’s workforce in cutting edge technology. Curriculum is specifically designed and developed with input from business and industry and implemented in today’s highly advanced technical manufacturing industry.

NACC Launches Its First Apprenticeship Program

In 2014, officials from Siemens in Fort Payne contacted the Workforce Development staff at Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) to explore the possibility of establishing an apprenticeship program for Machinists.  As we began to discuss a possible partnership, the college found that other companies were experiencing the same needs.  Meetings were held with officials from business and industry in DeKalb and Jackson counties.  A Consortium was formed, and was named the “Northeast Alabama Community College Tri-State Apprenticeship Consortium”, which developed this partnership.  The Consortium decided to branch out to neighboring states, Tennessee and Georgia, to further meet the demanding needs of our surrounding area.
